Fermatta is not just a music school , but a unique safe haven for artists, dedicated to prepare its students through deep theoretical, practical and technological learning to become leaders in the music industry. With a comprehensive curriculum and a proven track record Fermatta is one of the most prestigious music universities in Latin America preparing aspiring musicians to succeed in the entertainment industry.
Our reputation as one of the top music schools in the world relies on the application of the Fermatta Educational Method, an exclusive curriculum that offers an extremely rigorous education to students in three specific areas:
- Theoretical Studies
- Practical Studies
- Technological Studies
Fermatta’s National Council oversees the Swedish editorial group; M-Utveclking’s review, creation & modification of all of the university’s taylor made curriculums, texts and methods so as to deliver an educational experience that is unlike any other music school.
After a strenuous and detailed process of selection, examination and grading, Fermatta faculty is composed of accomplished professional musicians as well as music industry leaders who (through Fermatta’s Instructors Educational Program) consistently updated with the latest teaching methods and most innovative techniques and industry data, modernizing their courses to meet the changing demands of the music industry and dedicated to providing exceptional education.
Fermatta has two University (Undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate) campuses and two Undergraduate (specialized courses and certification) campuses located in Mexico City and Guadalajara. The facilities at all four music schools are designed for students to develop their full potentials in an inspirational, technologically advanced and yet controlled environment. All Fermatta campuses have classrooms for individual and group instruction, fully equipped ensemble halls and professionally equipped recording studios, laboratories and specialized electronic music workshops where students have full access to the highest quality tools.
Fermatta is the only music school in Mexico and Latin America that offers students the opportunity to operate the most advanced digital as well as analog recording and mixing equipment in existence, including two Avid Digidesign ICON D-Control ES, Solid State Logic AWS 900, Sony MXP3000 Analog consoles as well as 3 Avid Digidesign C-24 and over 90 Individual Recording stations containing Pro-Tools, Logic Pro, Digital Performer, Reason, Recycle, Finale, Sibelius, Ableton, Cubase, Traktor & Melodyne.
These facilities and accommodations are what make Fermatta one of the most prestigious music schools not only in Guadalajara and Mexico City but in all of Latin America.
A key factor in the development of the new music industry is the implementation of new technology. The rapid change in communication technology has profoundly transformed the business model of both the record industry and music industry alike. Now, in order to operate at a competitive and professional level, musicians must have knowledge and access to the current tools used in audio manipulation and production. Students need their music school to be equipped not only with the technology but the expertise to help them excel in the new era of music.
Recognizing this need, Fermatta partnered with Avid in 2007 to offer courses to students and the general public interested in production and management of sound for the music industry, advertising, radio, film and more. Fermatta is one of the very few institutions in Latin America certified to teach all levels of training in the operation of Avid’s Pro Tools, the world’s leading editing, recording, mixing and mastering music software. With this exclusive teaching technology, Fermatta’s music schools prepares its students not only for the present, but for the music industry of the future.
It is essential for students to experience the range of circumstances they may face once they join the industry. One of the key ways we facilitate this knowledge is through direct contact with some of the industry’s most successful artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, managers and music industry professionals. Fermatta Music schools are responsible for providing this insight to our students in adequate view of the demanding music industry. Fermatta has incorporated an educational supplement in that department and invites students to participate in the Fermatta Master Class Series: a compilation of life lessons that are molded into a practical guide to the attitudes and procedures on the phenomenon of music as well as its ever-expanding possibilities as an industry and medium of expression.
